A history of scents from 1986
A historic brand name in ITALIAN PERFUMERY, Gandini has created essences, perfumes and eau de colognes famous for their handcrafted qualities, fine raw materials and genuineness.
GANDINI PROFUMI of ALESSANDRIA was opened in 1896 by Alessandro GANDINI, a pharmacist and alchemist. By the beginning of the 20th century it already employed over 25 people.
The company imported natural raw materials from France, Bulgaria and Africa.
The company's success became consolidated over the years thanks to the popularity of perfumes that have marked the history of Italian perfumery: ETRUSCA eau de cologne for men and CAPRICCIO for women, APPLAUSO,VELE AL VENTO, IRIS BLU, TAIGA and so on. Names that left their mark on generations of people.
Nature has blessed us with fertile land, bright sunshine, clear water and flowers. While we need the earth, sun and water for our bodies to survive, flowers, with their subtle fragrance and their bright or delicate colours, are dear to our souls and their charm is not wasted on anyone.
Yet the fragrance of flowers does not last for ever and cannot be enjoyed all the time.
Men have been searching for a solution to this problem, trying to create their own, new, complex fragrances.
It was not - and is not - an easy task. The finest and most suitable natural compounds must be carefully chosen and artfully blended, so that each essence is part of the harmony of the fragrance thus created. To achieve an original fragrance, that is always pleasant and never looses its scent, this is the problem - a difficult one indeed. Many have tried to solve it - and failed. Nature is divine.
Only by studying ancient text books and techniques and mixing that knowledge with the most recent research, have we been able to create unique blends of the finest and most sublime harmony. These true jewels of elegance are on sale in the best perfumeries.
